Hotline

📞 514 489-1110

Monday to Friday 10 am-3 pm

This phone service provides on-demand Support through active and compassionate listening with a dedicated volunteer. This service also may refer callers to internal and external resources to meet their needs.

Upon request and availabilities, our diverse group of peer support volunteers can provide services in different  languages, including English, French, Brazilian Portuguese and Arabic.

Objective

Break the isolation that survivors of violence face and provide a non-judgmental space for people to seek visibility and resources. We work to demystify IPV, present options to survivors, and advocate for their safety and empowerment.

The Hotline serves survivors living in abusive situations, or survivors dealing with the consequences of past abuse. We also welcome calls from family and immediate supporters of survivors seeking advice or guidance in supporting their loved ones.

This service does not require you to reveal your identity or present yourself in person to seek help

Support Groups

Our support groups’ sessions are in English and facilitated, online, collaboratively by Peer-Support Volunteers and Volunteer Psychologists. They are available to survivors dealing with the consequences of past abuse.

Objective

The primary objective of Support Groups is to build a sense of community amongst survivors and to provide a safe, confidential space for active listening and empathy amongst survivors. It is an opportunity to share personal testimony, actively listen to others, and receive support and feedback from peers.

Support Groups covers topics as how to set personal boundaries, co-parenting with abusers, self-forgiveness, trauma and the body, how to deal with triggers, the court process, the cycle of abuse and more.

1:1 Peer Support

This program is an internal initiative aimed at offering support to survivors through one-on-one meeting with dedicated volunteers who have also experienced abuse. During these meetings, volunteers provide customized assistance, actively and compassionately listen to the survivors, and offer referrals to both internal and external resources. The survivor’s connection with the Peer-Support Volunteer is maintained via phone, video, text, or in-person interactions. The Peer-Support program serves survivors living in an abusive situation, or survivors dealing with the consequences of past abuse.

The 1:1 Peer Support program is aimed at survivors of abuse, or survivors dealing with the consequences of past abuse. The program is unique and specialized in providing sustainable, individualized support and mentoring, tailored to the specific needs of each survivor. The bond established between volunteers and survivors helps to break the social isolation that often results from situations of abuse.
